The Uttar Pradesh Police have formally registered a first information report (FIR) against Maulana Abdullah Salim following allegations of derogatory remarks about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's mother during a religious event. The complaint, filed by Ravi Kumar Mishra, BJP District President from Balrampur, has led to significant outrage among party members, demanding strict legal action.
The BJP leader further accused the cleric of attempting to provoke minority communities against state-imposed anti-cow slaughter laws. The police have filed the FIR under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Further developments in the case are awaited.
Coinciding with this controversy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently inaugurated the KDSG Super-Speciality Hospital in Greater Noida. He praised the hospital for enhancing healthcare services, underlining the nation's healthcare progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Adityanath emphasized the growth in healthcare infrastructure, noting the increase of AIIMS institutions from six to 23 since 2014, all attributed to PM Modi's initiatives.
