Actor-politician Vijay commenced interviewing candidates from his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party on Tuesday, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. This marks the TVK’s first election effort since its launch, as it aims to make a significant political impact.
The party plans to contest all 234 assembly seats, strategically designating key constituencies to senior members like Bussy Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, and Arun Raj for areas including T Nagar and Villivakkam. A source stated that over 4,200 applications have been submitted by hopefuls seeking party tickets.
Despite the TVK’s proactive approach, no political party has yet partnered with it, despite offers of power-sharing. However, the TVK positions itself as an alternative to the ruling DMK in the political landscape.
