The UK's trade minister has sounded the alarm on the future of the World Trade Organization (WTO), labeling its next ministerial meeting as an 'existential moment' for the global trade body.
Speaking at the WTO headquarters in Geneva, Christ Bryant emphasized the risk of the organization sliding into insignificance if immediate measures are not implemented to bolster its relevance.
'We are committed to ensuring the WTO functions effectively, but it is imperative to address the possible decline in its global influence in the coming years,' he told reporters.
