Delhi marks the 20th anniversary of the 2005 serial bomb blasts that devastated the city, killing 62 people and injuring over 200 just two days before Diwali.
Survivors and families of the victims still grapple with the memories of that tragic evening. Kuldeep Singh, a former Delhi Transport Corporation bus driver, recalls the harrowing moment when he sacrificed his eyesight to save passengers from a bomb. 'I haven't seen my son, born a month later, but I'm proud to have saved lives,' Singh remarked.
In Sarojini Nagar, where a blast also occurred, residents remember the day vividly. Surendra Yadav recounts losing his brother Kaushlendra, forever altering his family's future. Ashok Randhawa, who narrowly escaped death, founded the South Asian Forum for People Against Terror to support victims. As they remember the event, survivors are pushing for government support, asking for policy changes to aid affected families.
