Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami kicked off the 49th Shri Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal. During the event, he reviewed departmental stalls and honored martyrs and freedom fighters with floral tributes.
Earlier, CM Dhami launched a state-awareness campaign at the Secretariat, promoting vigilance as a collective duty, scheduled to run until State Foundation Day on November 9. He invoked the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in advocating integrity and unity. The initiative also featured an oath-taking ceremony, committing officials to uphold these values.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a transparent and accountable governance framework is being reinforced, said the Chief Minister. Strict measures have been taken against corruption, leading to the arrest of numerous officials and employees. A toll-free helpline, 1064, has been instrumental in reporting nearly 10,000 complaints, spurring further investigations.
Dhami urged widespread promotion of the campaign across all departments, underlining that corruption would not be condoned and offenders would be penalized severely. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan emphasized the necessity of honesty and discipline among government employees to fortify both administration and society. Progress in anti-corruption efforts under Dhami's leadership was lauded by attending officials, including DGP Deepam Seth and Vigilance Director V. Murugesan.
