Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined the Chhath Puja festivities at the Chhath Puja Ghat in Khatima, highlighting the event as a symbol of Sanatan culture's rich traditions. He noted the involvement of people from all backgrounds, reflecting the festival's universal appeal.

During his address, CM Dhami remarked, "This sacred festival underscores discipline, penance, and a deep respect for nature. Chhath Puja transcends religious rituals, embodying our fundamental life and cultural values. Our mothers and sisters' rigorous fasting exemplifies devotion. It distinctively features offerings to both the rising and setting sun, celebrated by all with faith." He added, "Under PM Modi's leadership, India's Sanatan culture shines globally, inspiring our government's developmental efforts in Uttarakhand."

The festival, celebrated nationwide, sees devotees at places like Varanasi's Assi Ghat, where they offer evening Arghya to the setting Sun on Chhath's third day. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his Chhath Puja greetings via social media, wishing nationwide happiness and prosperity, and praising the offering ritual's uniqueness.

On this occasion, PM Modi stated, "Heartfelt Chhath Puja evening arghya wishes to my compatriots. Our tradition of offering arghya to the setting sun is unique. May Lord Surya's grace bring happiness and success." The four-day festival began on Saturday with Nahay-Khay, followed by Kharna, the evening Sandhya Arghya, and concludes with Usha Arghya on Tuesday.

This year's Chhath celebration spans from October 25 to 28, featuring rituals including Nahay-Khay on Chaturthi Tithi, Kharna on Panchami, Chhath Puja on Sashti, and ends with Usha Arghya on Saptami.
