On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a state-wide public awareness campaign titled 'Vigilance - Our Shared Responsibility' at the Secretariat. Scheduled to run until State Foundation Day on November 9, the campaign aims to engage various mediums across Uttarakhand. At the event, Dhami also administered an oath of integrity to present officials, commemorating the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, and his vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, Great India).

The Chief Minister highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to a corruption-free India, which has led to a new governance culture emphasizing transparency, accountability, and a people-centric approach. Under this guidance, the Uttarakhand government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. Notably, 339 officials and employees have been arrested for corrupt practices since the state's formation, including 78 in the past three years alone.

Dhami announced the activation of a toll-free helpline (1064) to combat corruption, logging nearly 10,000 complaints over three years. These efforts have resulted in 62 trap cases and four open investigations, demonstrating a strong stance against corruption. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan called for the promotion of this campaign at all levels and stressed the importance of honesty and discipline among government employees. The event was attended by key officials including DGP Deepam Seth and Principal Secretary L. Fanai.
