Operation Sindoor: A Catalyst for India's Defence Indigenisation

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the urgency for India to be primed for potential conflicts after the brief military engagement with Pakistan in May. Speaking at an event, he underscored the significance of Operation Sindoor as a pivotal moment for assessing and strategizing future national security approaches.

During the operation, India's use of domestically made military equipment reinforced its stature regionally and globally, Singh noted. He praised the armed forces and industry innovators for their roles, emphasizing the need for continuous introspection to bolster preparedness. Despite effective responses, Singh urged constant vigilance against threats.

Singh pointed to global insecurity as impetus for India to focus on domestic manufacturing, reducing reliance on imports. He hailed advancements such as the Akash missile and BrahMos as emblematic of India's self-reliance goals. Encouraging the development of indigenous components, Singh stressed the importance of transforming India into a manufacturing powerhouse.
