In a crucial meeting held at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters in Chennai's Teynampet, Minister for Municipal Administration K. N. Nehru and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin spearheaded discussions on monsoon preparedness. Central to their agenda were guidelines for ongoing rain management, precautionary strategies, and relief efforts by DMK operatives across affected regions.

The meeting witnessed the participation of district secretaries, mayors, and councillors from various constituencies, including Chennai, Tambaram, Avadi, and Poonamallee. On the preceding day, Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin conducted thorough inspections across Chennai, assessing the execution of preventive measures in response to the Northeast Monsoon's challenges.

Deputy CM Stalin, accompanied by senior officials, toured key sites such as Narayanapuram Lake, currently at full spill, examining water management protocols. His visits to seven locations spotlighted ongoing flood-control and drainage efforts. Stalin mandated accelerated precautionary measures to shield South Chennai, emphasizing standby readiness with equipment to counter water stagnation in vulnerable areas.
