Chennaiyin FC is set to confront East Bengal in a highly anticipated AIFF Super Cup Group A match on Tuesday at the GMC Athletic Stadium. The team aims to recover quickly from a close loss against Mohun Bagan. According to an AIFF press release, Chennaiyin, fielding an all-Indian side, matched up valiantly against a full-strength Mohun Bagan team on a wet Fatorda pitch.

Head Coach Clifford Miranda commended his team's effort in their first competitive match in five months. He highlighted the necessity of building on their performance in preparation for the decisive clash with East Bengal. "Despite limited training sessions, the team’s attitude has been commendable. They’ve shown resilience and played without fear," stated Miranda.

Chennaiyin has historically shown dominance over East Bengal, winning their last face-off 3-0 in February’s ISL. However, this will mark their first Super Cup encounter. Miranda expressed confidence in the team’s positive mindset and readiness to face East Bengal. "The players’ commitment to competing and defending was heartening. It bodes well for the future," he added.
