External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has highlighted Africa's pivotal position in India's foreign policy, emphasizing a clear vision rooted in equality and mutual respect. Speaking at the unveiling of the logo, theme, and website for the India-Africa Forum Summit-IV, he stressed the enduring partnership through shared historical and cultural connections.

Jaishankar noted that India's historical ties with Africa were strengthened during the African nations' fight against colonialism, linking it to the narratives of India's own struggle for independence. He underscored the mutual aspirations and resilience that continue to shape the India-Africa partnership today.

The minister also pointed out India's efforts in supporting Africa's rightful place in global governance, citing the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 during India's 2023 presidency as a significant step. This move, he said, highlights the importance of including voices from the Global South in shaping global governance.
