Authorities in Haryana have swiftly reacted to a controversy surrounding rapper-musician Badshah, initiating procedures to prevent him from leaving the country. The move comes after his latest music video 'Tateeree' faced allegations of showcasing objectionable content.
On Friday, Panchkula Police registered an FIR following a complaint that identified misleading depictions in the video, particularly impacting women and girls. The artistic content has been flagged under the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, further drawing attention from the Haryana State Commission for Women.
Government bodies have condemned the video's portrayal of school girls and cultural elements, with Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda voicing strong disapproval. The situation remains dynamic as authorities continue to track the rapper's activities and scrutinize the video's content and the clearance of official permissions.
