In Sreekandapuram, Kerala, a man identified as Rajan C Kottoor is facing legal proceedings for allegedly referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a 'traitor' on social media. The police confirmed the registration of a case following a complaint from a BJP supporter.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Kottoor's comment on a Facebook post dated March 3 was deemed defamatory and provocative, potentially inciting a riot. The charges fall under section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act.

The investigation, which began Friday evening, aims to gather evidence by tracing the electronic device used for the post. Interrogation of the accused is also planned as part of the ongoing probe, police officials confirmed.
