In a firm address on Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the indispensable allegiance of the military to the Communist Party, underscoring the urgency of rooting out corruption within its ranks, as reported by the official Xinhua news agency.
"There is no place for corruption to hide," Xi declared, reiterating the need for relentless action against corruption.
The president's remarks coincided with the annual meetings of China's top political bodies, which set out this year's economic goals. Notably, two senior officials were missing from the political elite gathered for the opening sessions, as high-level purges continue to shake the party structure.
