A tragic fire broke out in a gulal manufacturing unit in Haryana's Jind district, leading to the deaths of four women workers and leaving at least 11 others injured, according to local police reports. The incident occurred on Saturday at the factory located in the residential area of Bhaat Colony in Safidon.
The fire allegedly began at the factory's entry point and quickly spread throughout the premises. In a desperate bid for survival, several workers reportedly jumped from the roof of the building, police reported. Rescue efforts involved police and fire department personnel who, with the help of local residents, broke through a boundary wall to save trapped workers.
Numerous fire brigades were deployed to extinguish the fire, and ambulances swiftly transported the casualties to nearby hospitals. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation. Jind Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh confirmed the fatalities and reported that the injured are receiving medical treatment.
