Actor Vijay on Monday met with families affected by the September 27 Karur stampede at a private resort in Mahabalipuram. The emotional interaction saw Vijay apologising for the incident that claimed 41 lives and pledging support for the victims' families.

The closed-door meeting lasted nearly eight hours, where Vijay assured the families of monetary support and assistance for education and self-employment. This gathering came a month after the tragic event during a TVK meeting that left over 60 injured.

Transporting families from Karur in buses to the resort, the TVK ensured the actor-politician personally conveyed his condolences, with plans to resume his paused political outreach soon.
