Actor-director Naveen Bawa fondly remembered the late veteran actor-comedian Asrani, portraying him as a father-like figure whose unwavering discipline and dedication profoundly impacted everyone he collaborated with. Reflecting in a conversation with ANI, Bawa revealed his admiration from the beginning, citing Asrani's influential role in his career since their first play 'Aasman Se Gire Khajoor Pe Atke' about 17-18 years ago. Bawa recounted how Asrani, even while playing a father figure in 'Baap Ka Baap' for 12 years, became somewhat of a mentor by providing guidance mixed with affection.

The play also starred the seasoned actress Padmini Kolhapure. Asrani, with a thriving career over five decades, became one of the most beloved figures in Hindi cinema, celebrated for his impeccable comic timing and charismatic screen presence, having appeared in more than 350 films. Naveen Bawa applauded Asrani's unwavering professionalism, recalling how he maintained his star-like demeanor by being punctual and ready for rehearsals, a trait exemplified last year when, despite personal hardships, he stayed committed to his performance.

Asrani's passing on October 20 marked the end of an era. Starting his career in the 1960s and reaching his peak in the 1970s, Asrani's memorable roles in films like 'Sholay,' 'Mere Apne,' and 'Chupke Chupke' left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. His venture into writing and directing, particularly with 'Chala Murari Hero Banne,' showcased his versatile talent. His legacy endures through popular culture, as he remains a symbol of diligence and artistic excellence.
