Nigerian police in Benue state have successfully freed 18 passengers who were abducted last week from a bus, including eight students traveling for their university entrance exams. Authorities confirmed that seven suspects have been apprehended in connection with the kidnapping, which occurred along the Makurdi-Otukpo road.

The hostages were released following a coordinated effort with multiple security agencies. Police spokesperson Udeme Edet confirmed that all the rescued passengers are in good health following medical evaluations and are now safe.
