Delhi Airport Boosts International Capacity with Pier C Transformation

Delhi airport is preparing to significantly increase its international passenger handling capacity with the conversion of Pier C at Terminal 3. From May, this expansion will boost capacity by 50%, allowing the airport to accommodate up to 32 million international passengers annually.

Currently, Terminal 3 is the only terminal handling international flights, with a capacity of 20 million passengers per annum. The Pier C transformation is expected to improve airside operations, increase wide-body stand availability by 40%, and support airline expansion plans.

Additionally, upgrades include 12 new Self Baggage Drop counters and increased Bureau of Immigration counters. This development is part of the government's strategy to develop Delhi airport into a global transit hub, furthering India's ambitions in the aviation sector.
