Jammu Division of Northern Railway: A New Era of Connectivity and Growth

The Jammu division of Northern Railway has become a fully functional entity, tasked with enhancing passenger amenities, safety, and freight logistics, according to officials this Saturday. Establishment of this division marks a significant milestone in Northern Railway's expansion, with upcoming goals centered on infrastructure development and increased freight loading.

Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar reported major achievements, emphasizing the division's progression since its inception during the 2025-26 reorganization. The division now independently manages operations and financial systems, reflecting significant strides in logistical integration and network expansion throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

Recent highlights include an increase in rail connectivity within the region and infrastructure inaugurations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. Notable projects, such as the integration of previously isolated sections and operational advancements like the Vande Bharat Express, are pivotal to regional growth, including responses to emergencies such as terror attacks and natural disasters.
