In a strategic move to reinvigorate stalled peace negotiations, U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner might travel to Kyiv this April. The announcement was made by Ukraine's top aide, Kyrylo Budanov, on Saturday. These discussions aim to revive the peace process between Ukraine and Russia, which came to a standstill following escalating conflicts in the Gulf region.
This would mark the first official visit to Ukraine's capital by Witkoff and Kushner. Although they have previously engaged with Ukrainian representatives on U.S. soil, their direct involvement in Moscow for talks with Russia underscores the complexity of the diplomatic challenge. Sensitivities have heightened after U.S. and Israeli operations in Iran disrupted regional stability.
Budanov revealed to Bloomberg that the meeting with Ukrainian officials is tentatively scheduled after Orthodox Easter on April 12. The involvement of Senator Lindsey Graham was also highlighted as efforts continue to bring the long-standing conflict to a diplomatic resolution.
