Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd is navigating potential market disturbances as a result of tensions in West Asia. The company's leadership is assessing the possible repercussions on their sales figures, as clarified by Deepak Mutreja, Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
In recent developments, Suzuki introduced its updated Burgman Street scooter at a starting price of Rs 1.01 lakh, alongside hiking prices on select models due to escalating commodity costs. This has come amid fears of inflation fueled by the US-Israel conflict with Iran and a recent LPG shortage crisis. The company is aware of the dual challenge of maintaining affordability and accommodating price rises.
Despite these hurdles, Suzuki marked a considerable milestone with record sales in 2025-26, achieving a 15% growth. In light of continued demand, especially from rural markets, and past positive market reactions post-tax rationalization, the company remains cautiously optimistic about future performance, albeit without concrete forecasts.
