Tamil Nadu Tops Textile Exports in India
Tamil Nadu has secured the top spot in India's textile exports for fiscal year 2024-25, with USD 7,997.17 million in shipments. This represents a 29.12% increase over four years. The state's strategic initiatives have outpaced competitors like Gujarat and Maharashtra, significantly contributing to India's overall textile export value.

Tamil Nadu has cemented its position as the leading state in India's textile exports, achieving USD 7,997.17 million in shipments for the fiscal year 2024-25. This represents a remarkable 29.12% growth over the past four years, the government announced.
Led by Chief Minister M K Stalin, Tamil Nadu has navigated strategic pathways, surpassing major competitors such as Gujarat and Maharashtra to claim the top export rank. The state's textile export volume rose from USD 6,193.39 million in 2020-21 to its current standing, driven by the initiatives of the Dravidian Model government.
According to the National-Import-Export Record for Yearly Analysis of Trade, Tamil Nadu contributed significantly to India's textile exports, which totaled USD 36,610 million. With Tamil Nadu accounting for 21.84% of the national export value, the state's concerted efforts and strategic planning have led to multifaceted growth, setting a benchmark in the sector.
