On Tuesday afternoon, a shuttle bus stationed at Terminal 3 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport caught fire. Fortunately, there were no passengers onboard, averting any casualties, as Air India's ground handling company confirmed.
Authorities, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Vichitra Veer, swiftly responded to the incident and confirmed the fire was extinguished swiftly. The blaze damaged the AISATS bus, which was parked near an Air India aircraft. The swift action by airport operators ensured the safety of all passengers and personnel.
AISATS, the ground handling arm of Tata Group's Air India, stated that investigations are underway to ascertain the fire's cause. The incident occurred around 1 PM, prompting a rapid response from local police, fire services, and CISF personnel, ensuring airport operations remained unaffected.
