Delhi witnessed a slight easing in its air quality on Tuesday, shifting from the 'very poor' to the 'poor' category. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped to 294 by 4 pm.

In the morning, the AQI had been recorded at 305, indicative of 'very poor' conditions, accompanied by a thin haze enveloping the city. By evening, 16 out of 38 monitoring stations in the national capital still showed 'very poor' air quality, a noticeable drop from 27 stations earlier in the day.

Siri Fort remained the most polluted area with an AQI of 347, followed by Wazirpur at 332. The Air Quality Early Warning System forecasts the air to stay in the 'poor' bracket until the end of October. Meanwhile, the IMD recorded temperatures slightly above and below normal ranges and forecast shallow fog for Wednesday.
