The ATP and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund have unveiled the ATP Next Gen Accelerator, a pioneering initiative aimed at grooming talent from the Global South for the ATP Tour. This program offers players access to advanced performance technology and medical support while emphasizing structured education and increased promotional opportunities.
The initiative is designed to create a more equitable playing field for upcoming tennis stars, ensuring that talent development is not left to chance, according to ATP's chief executive, Eno Polo. With key endorsements from the top echelons of the ATP Tour, this program seeks to nurture and stabilize the careers of young professionals.
The launch of the Accelerator coincides with the strategic aims of PIF's 2026-2030 plan, which focuses on diversifying Saudi Arabia's economy. By investing in sports talent from underrepresented regions, PIF aligns its financial ambitions with broader, inclusive growth objectives.
