American electric vehicle giant Tesla is strategically planning to roll out its humanoid robot, Optimus, in the Indian market when the time is right, according to Isabel Fan, Tesla's chief for the APAC region. The company is also keen on introducing its vertically integrated energy solutions business to India when circumstances align.
Fan reported that Tesla is set to initiate volume production of Optimus later this year in the United States. Humanoid robots are expected to play a significant role in the future, serving multiple purposes such as companionship, executing hazardous tasks, and supporting home medical needs.
On the energy front, Tesla aims to leverage India's abundant sunlight by introducing its comprehensive energy solutions. These include solar power, energy storage systems, and mega pack power storage for various consumers, to enhance productivity and sustainable resource usage in the region.
