His decision comes in the wake of a New York Times article detailing allegations from former employees about incidents between 2009 and 2017.
In a social media statement, Redzepi expressed his intention to take responsibility for his 'past leadership' by stepping down. He emphasized the need to allow the next generation of leaders to guide Noma, which has consistently ranked among the world's top dining destinations, to its next phase.
Noma acknowledged changes in recent years, including a fully paid internship program and improved employee benefits, as part of its effort to transform workplace culture. Despite stepping back, Redzepi assured staff and patrons that he would remain involved, albeit in a less visible role.
