Bihar's Bold Leap: Establishing an AI Hub in Eastern India

The Bihar government has taken a significant step towards becoming a technology powerhouse by signing agreements worth Rs 468 crore with leading tech companies and IIT Patna. These pacts, announced at the India AI Impact Summit, include plans for an AI Centre of Excellence and a research park at IIT Patna.
Expected to create over 10,000 jobs and provide skill training to more than 50,000 youths, these projects underscore Bihar's ambition to be at the forefront of technological advances in eastern and northeastern India. The Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Semiconductor Policy 2026 further reinforce this vision.
The summit highlighted the potential for technological growth in Bihar, with figures like Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh emphasizing that Bihar could become a pivotal player in AI technology development. The state's strategic policies are set to attract more technology ventures, fueling economic and employment growth.
