Balancing Act: Innovation and Regulation in India's AI Landscape

Union Minister Jitin Prasada highlighted India's measured approach to AI regulations, aiming to fuel innovation while preventing overregulation. He spoke at the AWS New Delhi Symposium 2026, emphasizing technology's transformative impact on society.

Prasada, who serves as Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, remarked on India’s strengths in scale, speed, innovation, and inclusion. He noted the importance of ensuring that technological advancements benefit every segment of the population, boosting productivity, income, and living standards.

During the event, AWS and Nasscom announced a strategic partnership to train 250,000 learners in AI and Cloud by 2027. Coinciding with these developments is the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, reflecting India's commitment to becoming a leader in technological innovation.
