Mad Max Mode: Tesla's New High-Speed Challenge
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is in discussions with Tesla over a new driver assistance mode called "Mad Max" that operates at higher speeds. Reports suggest this mode allows Tesla cars to exceed speed limits. The NHTSA is investigating these claims amid concerns about traffic violations and crashes.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has engaged in discussions with Tesla regarding a new, high-speed driver assistance mode known as "Mad Max." This advanced mode reportedly allows vehicles to operate at speeds that surpass those of other versions.
Concerns are rising as social media users report that this aggressive version of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system enables vehicles to exceed posted speed limits. These claims have prompted further scrutiny.
In light of these reports, the NHTSA launched an investigation earlier this month, focusing on 2.9 million Tesla vehicles equipped with the FSD system. The investigation follows over 50 reports of traffic-safety violations and a series of crashes involving these vehicles.
