Cricket's Historic Groundbreaking for 2028 Olympics: A Long-Awaited Promise Fulfilled

The International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO, Sanjog Gupta, declared the establishment of a cricket venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as a pivotal moment in sports history. Speaking at the ceremonial groundbreaking, Gupta emphasized this development as a fulfillment of a promise largely overdue for 128 years.

Gupta highlighted cricket's return to the Olympics for the first time since 1900, underlining the sport's immense global following of 2.5 billion enthusiasts.
