From Maoist Hotbed to Sports Haven: Sachin Tendulkar Champions Youth Empowerment in Chhattisgarh

Emphasizing hard work and discipline, Tendulkar inaugurated a multi-sports ground and interacted with children, advocating for holistic youth development through sports and education.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Wednesday, participating in a grassroots sports initiative that aims to transform the region, previously known for Maoist violence, into a thriving sports hub. The event is part of a broader effort to improve opportunities for youth.
Emphasizing the importance of hard work, Tendulkar inaugurated a multi-sports ground at Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium High School in Chhindnar village. He encouraged children to pursue sports alongside education, stressing that success requires discipline, focus, and strategic thinking developed through multi-sport participation.
The initiative has already developed 25 of the 50 planned playgrounds across Dantewada under the 'Maidan Cup' initiative, supported by the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation and Mann Deshi Foundation. Tendulkar highlighted the importance of proper coaching and guidance in nurturing young talent, as well as the crucial role of women in societal progress.
