Mystery in Chhattisgarh: No Evidence of Aircraft Crash Amid Viral Claims

Authorities in the district of Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, have denied reports of an aircraft crash, clarifying that no such incident has occurred despite widespread social media claims. Local officials, who conducted a search operation, discovered that a viral video showing smoke was due to a forest fire.

The local administration, led by District Collector Rohit Vyas and Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umend Singh, initiated a search around 3 pm after receiving reports of a supposed air crash. However, no evidence has been uncovered so far. Drone surveillance and forest department personnel have been deployed to confirm the cause of the smoke.

Officials contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) authorities in neighboring states Jharkhand and Odisha, who confirmed that no aircraft were reported missing. Authorities highlight that forest fires are common in the region during summer, warning against premature assumptions. Search efforts continue in the region.
