Japan and France to Host Basketball World Cups in 2030 and 2031
Japan will host the Women's Basketball World Cup in 2030, with the event taking place in Tokyo. France will host the Men's Basketball World Cup in 2031 across Lille, Lyon, and Paris. Both nations have a strong basketball legacy and recently hosted the Olympic Games.
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Wednesday that Japan will host the Women's Basketball World Cup in 2030 and France will host the Men's tournament in 2031.
Scheduled from November 26 to December 8, 2030, the Women's World Cup will be held in Tokyo. The Men's World Cup will take place in France, across cities such as Lille, Lyon, and Paris, from August 29 to September 14, 2031.
Both Japan and France have recently organized the Olympics and have strong basketball heritages. Japan hosted the Men's World Cup in 2006, and this will be France's first time hosting a basketball World Cup event.
