Dasun Shanaka Banned from PSL After Joining IPL

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a one-season ban for Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after he withdrew from Lahore Qalandars to join the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Rajasthan Royals. In a detailed statement, the board cited a breach in the 'Player Registration terms' and the 'Tripartite Agreement' as grounds for the decision, rendering Shanaka ineligible for PSL 2027.

PCB's review of the situation, finalized on Shanaka's unilateral exit on March 21, 2026, found his withdrawal unjustifiable under existing contractual agreements. This decision follows PCB's recent two-season ban on Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani over similar commitments made towards IPL's Kolkata Knight Riders after exiting Islamabad United.
