Hockey India on Monday announced the selection of a 36-member core group for the upcoming senior men's national coaching camp. This intensive training session is slated to take place at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre in Bengaluru, running from April 20 to May 9, according to an official release.
The primary objectives of the camp will include honing tactical cohesion, improving conditioning, and conducting match-simulation sessions. These efforts aim to fine-tune the team's preparations as they face a packed international schedule, highlighted by the European leg of the FIH Pro League 2025-56, the World Cup, and the Asian Games. The camp will focus on building rhythm, refining player combinations, and reinforcing depth throughout all positions.
The squad features a balance of seasoned players and emerging talents. In the goalkeeping department, veterans like Krishan Bahadur Pathak, Suraj Karkera, and Pawan will guide promising newcomers such as Mohith Honnenahalli Shashikumar and Princedeep Singh. Defensive strategies will be anchored by stalwarts like Harmanpreet Singh and Amit Rohidas, with support from Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and others.
