A tragic incident unfolded in Rasoolpur village when a lightning strike claimed the life of a teenage boy and injured two others during a cricket match on Friday, according to local police sources.
The unfortunate event occurred on the outskirts of the Garhshankar area as around 10-12 boys played cricket in an open field despite the cloudy weather conditions. Tarandeep Singh, 16, was pronounced dead, while Anshpreet and Jassi Loi sustained injuries and were admitted to a private hospital in Nawanshahr.
The condition of the injured remains stable, authorities confirmed. Tarandeep's body is currently held at the Garhshankar civil hospital for further post-mortem and legal procedures.
