A farmer in Maharashtra tragically died after being struck by lightning amid unexpected unseasonal rains and thunderstorms in Beed district, police reported on Wednesday.

The victim, Balaji Baburao Chavan, sought shelter under a tree from the unforeseen rain before a lightning bolt fatally struck him on Monday night in the Sabadrabad area. In a related incident, another farmer, Dhanraj Ashroba Phapal, experienced the loss of his bull due to a similar lightning strike in Kaudgaon Huda village.
