Maharashtra is witnessing significant political shifts as NCP workers rally behind party chief Sunetra Pawar amidst talks of merging rival party factions. The transition comes after the tragic death of former Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, prompting calls for an investigation into possible foul play.
Minister Aditi Tatkare assured that a thorough probe will be conducted, with cooperation from central and state agencies like the CBI and CID. She expressed hope that top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, would oversee the case to ensure justice prevails.
In light of upcoming bypolls, the ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena, emphasizes collective decision-making. The alliance urges opposition parties not to contest against Sunetra Pawar in Baramati, following Maharashtra's political tradition of honoring a departed leader's family. Meanwhile, the e-KYC deadline for the Ladki Bahin scheme has been extended to April 30 to rectify submission errors.
