In a recent ICC Men's T20 World Cup final event, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh faced the consequences of an 'aggressive and inappropriate' ball throw at New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell, resulting in a fine of 15% of his match fee.
The incident, which transpired during the eleventh over, led to Arshdeep being assessed a demerit point for breaching Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This marked the first offence for Arshdeep within a 24-month period.
Despite the on-field tension, India emerged victorious, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs, marking a historic win by becoming the first team to secure three T20 World Cup titles and successfully defend the title on home turf.
