Mid-fielder Hardik Singh has been appointed captain of the Indian men's hockey team for the upcoming FIH Pro League matches in Hobart, scheduled from February 20 to 25. Current captain Harmanpreet Singh is unavailable due to personal reasons, as confirmed by Hockey India.

Under the new leadership, India will face Spain and host country Australia at the Tasmania Hockey Centre. The squad is looking to redeem itself following a series of losses in Rourkela, which included a heavy 0-8 defeat against Argentina. Coach Craig Fulton is optimistic, stating that the team has learned valuable lessons.

The squad's lineup features experienced players alongside promising newcomers like Amandeep Lakra and Manmeet Singh, who debuted recently. The team is focused on finalizing its squad for upcoming international competitions like the World Cup and Asian Games.
