In a joint statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, eight countries, including prominent Middle Eastern nations such as Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, have issued a strong condemnation of Israel's recent policy shifts in the occupied West Bank.
Israel's cabinet recently greenlit new measures that facilitate land purchases for settlers and enhance control over the disputed territory, a decision met with accusations of 'de-facto annexation' from Palestinian authorities.
The statement describes these moves as a 'dangerous escalation' and a 'flagrant violation of international law.' The group of countries urges the international community to take decisive actions to address and halt these policies.
