On the eve of a high-stakes T20 World Cup face-off, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly played down the perceived threat posed by Pakistan's Usman Tariq. Labeling Tariq as a conventional off-spinner, Ganguly expressed confidence in India's batting lineup to effectively counter him in their Group A clash.

Ganguly maintained that India's seasoned players, accustomed to handling spin, are well-prepared. He highlighted Tariq's distinctive delivery pause but remarked that the Indian team, fielding a strong playing eleven, would face no difficulty. The unchanged roster is India's strategy for maintaining batting equilibrium, Ganguly added.

Commenting on the opposition, Ganguly noted a drop in Pakistan's cricketing prowess compared to iconic squads led by Inzamam-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram. This perspective further boosts Indian morale ahead of their encounter at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium.
