Khaleb McRae set a new indoor 400m world record with a time of 44.52 seconds at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville. He surpassed Kerron Clement's 21-year-old mark by 0.05 seconds. Although other athletes have recorded faster times, they were not ratified due to non-compliance with record rules.
Khaleb McRae has officially set a new benchmark in the 400-meter indoor race, clocking an impressive 44.52 seconds. This record-breaking performance dethrones the 21-year-old record held by fellow American Kerron Clement, which stood at 44.57 seconds.
The race, held at Fayetteville's Tyson Invitational, saw McRae outpace his competitor William Jones by a significant margin of 1.11 seconds. At just 25, McRae shaved off 0.1 seconds from his previous personal best in a stunning athletic feat.
While other athletes like Michael Norman and Christopher Morales Williams have run faster, their times remain unratified due to discrepancies. Meanwhile, the outdoor 400m world record is held by South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk, who ran 43.03 seconds at the 2016 Olympics.
