Pakistan's cricket captain, Salman Ali Agha, reiterated on Thursday the national team's decision to boycott the T20 World Cup fixture against India was made by the government. He emphasized that it was beyond their control.
Pakistan has confirmed it will partake in other matches of the tournament beginning February 7. However, the showdown against India on February 15 has been canceled as a political protest against the ICC's decision concerning Bangladesh's removal.
Agha expressed excitement about his debut as a captain in the World Cup and pledged to lead the team to success with dedication and respect for governmental directives in forthcoming encounters.
