Indian wrestler Vishvajit More remains in contention for a medal in the 55kg Greco-Roman category at the U-23 World Championships after reaching the quarterfinals. Indian wrestler Vishvajit More has kept India's hopes alive for a medal in the 55kg Greco-Roman category at the U-23 World Championships, despite a challenging field. More secured a promising start with a 6-2 victory against Kyrgyzstan's Denis Florin Mihai.
Continuing his streak, More dominated over American opponent Kenneth Andrew Crosby, securing a quarterfinal berth with a 9-1 technical superiority win. However, his journey faced a hurdle when he was defeated in the quarterfinals by Alibek Amirov.
Amirov's progression to the finals offered More another chance at medal contention through repechage. Unfortunately, fellow Indian wrestlers Nishant, Anil, and Naman exited early after first-round defeats, mirroring the previous day’s results of other team members.
