In a perplexing turn of events, police have yet to make any arrests related to the alleged acid attack on a 20-year-old woman near Delhi University's Laxmi Bai College. Authorities revealed that the prime suspect, Jitender, was reportedly elsewhere when the crime occurred, adding complexity to the investigation.
On Sunday, a Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board student, in her second year of BCom, was attacked with acid on her way to class. Jitender, accused alongside Ishan and Arman, has been taken in for questioning, with police noting his alibi in Karol Bagh during the incident. The investigation explores multiple angles, as Jitender’s call detail records corroborate his claim.
The case's multi-layered nature includes a property dispute between the victim's family and the suspects, who are also relatives. This history includes a prior acid attack involving the victim’s family in 2018. The victim remains critically injured as families call for justice.
