Australia's cricket captain, Pat Cummins, remains doubtful for the Ashes series opener against England in Perth next month due to a lingering back injury.
The 32-year-old pace bowler, who has been sidelined since a series win over the West Indies in July, said that recovering in time for the start of the five-test series is uncertain.
While Cummins has commenced physical training and plans to begin light bowling preparations shortly, the decision on his participation will depend on his fitness levels as the series approaches.
