Delhi to Begin Construction on Second Savitri Cinema Flyover

The Delhi government will soon commence construction on a second flyover at Savitri Cinema, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh announced on Tuesday.

Approved alongside the Modi Mill flyover integration with Kalkaji Temple road last December, the Savitri Cinema project aims to alleviate traffic congestion between Greater Kailash and Nehru Place. Following administrative approvals, Singh noted the foundation stone is expected to be laid within a month.

The new flyover, running parallel to the existing structure, is designed to ensure smoother transit in the area. Additionally, plans include constructing a three-lane carriageway to integrate Modi Mill flyover with Kalkaji Mandir at a cost of Rs 312.94 crore. Combined, these efforts promise to offer signal-free movement, enhance traffic speeds, and ease congestion, particularly at critical junctions such as Captain Gaur Marg-Outer Ring Road. The Savitri Cinema flyover alone is projected to cost Rs 58 crore, and both projects are slated for completion within the next two and a half years.
